ANZAC day is a day celebrated by both New Zealand and Australia. The word ‘ANZAC’ stands for ‘Australia, New Zealand, Army Corps’, with the ‘P’ being silent at the end.
The reason ANZAC Day exists is so we can honor the soldiers who had fought in World War 1. The way we show our gratitude is by attending dawn services, laying poppies, and visiting war memorials. The poppies are actually a symbol / sign of remembrance towards the people who had fought in battle.
Their bravery will be remembered and celebrated throughout many, many years. They had fought selflessly in battle, putting their country’s needs before their own.
